The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is more like an out of the ordinary entry by the company. That is because this phone aims at providing flagship performance for $300 less than the price of the Galaxy S20. The best thing about this phone is that it doesn’t come with too many trade-offs.

The purpose of developing this phone is to offer all of the prominent features that consumers want at a lower price. It has a 6.5-inch screen, a 120Hz screen refresh rate, a triple camera setup on the rear side, and a 4500mAh battery unit.

The Galaxy S20, on the other hand, is a more premium phone. It has double the RAM installed in the Galaxy S20 FE and a sharper screen. In this article, we will compare both these phones.

Specs

Price

The launch price of the Galaxy S20 FE is $699, but you may be able to get it for $599. The Galaxy S20, on the other hand, is available at $999. Nonetheless, you may be able to find this phone for $799 or less.

Design and colors

The Galaxy S20 FE comes with an aluminum frame but a back made of polycarbonate. Moreover, the bezels on the FE are slightly larger than those on the standard S20 phone.

There are more color options available in S20 FE compared to the standard S20. Those colors or hues include mint, navy, red, lavender, white, and orange. The regular S20 comes with four color options: blue, gray, white, and pink.

The S20 FE is a larger phone with a larger display, meaning that it is a bit heavier compared to the standard S20. The dimensions of this phone are 6.29 x 2.93 x 0.33 inches, and it weighs 6.7 ounces. The dimensions of the regular S20 are 5.9 x 3 x 0.31 inches and it weighs 5.7 ounces.

Display

The fairly large display of the Galaxy S20 FE is quite attractive. The 6.5-inch screen of this phone offers a screen resolution of 2400 x 1800 pixels. The regular S20 has a 6.2-inch screen, and its screen resolution is 3200 x 1400 pixels.

Both these phones allow for smooth scrolling and motion of the contents across the display, thanks to their 120Hz screen refresh rate.

Cameras

The Galaxy S20 FE comes with a triple camera setup, consisting of a 12MP primary camera, 12MP ultra-wide lens, and an 8MP telephoto lens that allows for 3x optical zoom. The digital zoom can go up to 30x.

The regular S20 comes with a 12MP primary camera, 12MP ultra-wide lens, and 64MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The Space Zoom can go up to 30x.

Performance

Both these handsets have a Snapdragon 865 chipset. The S20 FE, however, comes with just 6GB of RAM. The regular S20 has 12GB of RAM.
